Happy New Year! Hope that 2009 is treating you well so far. Some great shows featuring good friends are coming up, as well as a really fun actor’s drop-in which is starting up again tomorrow night, so I thought I’d share “the deets” with one and all. (I also attended the Polar Bear Swim and took some pretty good photos, which I’ve linked to.) Enjoy, and maybe I’ll see you at one of these upcoming events!

Vancouver Actor’s Drop-In

scenesI wanted to mention a great scene-study drop-in held weekly and currently managed by a couple of friends of mine. It’s strictly scene practice, cold reads from a stockpile of over 500 scenes (and growing) of every description. This Tuesday night (January 6) is their first evening of the new year. It’s a great opportunity to do some scene work, very inexpensive to attend, and a lot of fun with very low pressure and an encouraging crowd of all skill levels!

Kate Polsky birthday bash at Our Town cafe

verveMy friend and (formerly) fellow Broadway Chorus singer, Kate Polsky, a talented singer-songwriter in her own right, is celebrating her birthday with a gig at the Our Town café (E. Broadway at Kingsway) this January 15 and 16. It will feature something extra special - a performance by the five-part harmony group, Verve Collective!

Another chance to catch “The Musical of Musicals, The Musical”
