Video: Moveable Music School graduates in concert

picture-11Vancouver’s Movable Music School is an ongoing series of weekly music lessons, at levels from beginner to advanced, organized by Rosemary Campbell. Classes are held in people’s homes, and typically run for six weeks. At the end of each term, folks from all the different classes meet for a potluck and performance. Me and Christine were there, guitars in hand, demoing our newfound skills. Check it out!

hawthornMy friend and fellow thespian Mary Clark’s show (co-written with Mary Murphy Demers), Under the Hawthorn Tree, is now on stage at the Havana Theatre! It’s the story of Ireland’s Great Famine, and is based on the award-winning children’s novel of the same name. VancouverPlays.com says that, “With a haunting score and unforgettable songs this exciting new stage production has an appeal for audiences of all ages.”

My big screen debut at VFS grad show

3314539735_bc6075eb86Last fall, I scored my first-ever role in a student film, playing an outrageous Hindu (!) swami/self-help guru, a small but pivotal role in the short comedy titled “Straight to Video”. Today I attended the VFS Grad Show at the VanCity theatre where the film was shown on the big screen!

My glitzy Oscar party!

Oscar Party!For the first time, I went all-out for a glamorous, Hollywood-style Oscar Party - and pulled it off handily! An actual red carpet greeted guests, “Celebrities Only” tape marked off the party territory, and Hollywood street signs were posted on the walls. Check out photos and a video!
