From our friends at Vancouver Opera:
La Voix Humaine

by Francis Poulenc
A powerful lyrical tragedy

Digital Premiere: Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 7:30PM

In this beautiful work, one performer and one piano create an intimate look into one night in the life of Elle as she struggles with connection, both physically and emotionally. This melodrama about unrequited love is led by an all-female all-Canadian powerhouse: soloist Mireille Lebel, stage director Rachel Peake and Vancouver Opera’s Principal Répétiteur, Kinza Tyrrell and has been re-imagined for your at-home viewing pleasure.

Saying thanks during a pandemic...

On October 7, we recorded a special virtual concert for the dedicated staff and physicians at Vancouver General Hospital. It was our way of saying thanks for their courage and dedication to patient care during the pandemic. Through our friends at Vancouver Coastal Health, it will be shared with the thousands of these devoted medical personnel who work hard – every day – to keep us safe.

Special thanks to soprano Eve-Lyn de la Haye, producer Alan Corbishley, videographer Kat Britten, and Jennifer Brady, Gillian Hobbs, Jodi Hooper, and Jill Lunde of Vancouver Coastal Health for their welcome and support.
