Water St Cafe – Winston Matsushsita Trio

Vancouver-born Jazz pianist Winston Matsushita is an alumnus of University of Toronto Jazz program. His soulful sound has been featured in all of Toronto’s major Jazz venues from The Rex Jazz & amp; Blues Bar, to The Old Mill and the Jazz Bistro. Winston has played in many venues across Canada and the United States, and has performed with Grammy and Juno award winners such as Maria Schneider, Tim Ries and many more. A $5 per set cover is collected.

36th Annual Britannia Craft Fair November 22-24, 2019

Every November Britannia hosts a 3 day Christmas Craft Fair which features a variety of hand made creations from local artists. The $2 admission provides each shopper the chance to enjoy local live music, time for shopping and eating while kicking off the holiday season. All proceeds go towards arts, sports and leadership programs for inner-city children and youth through the Britannia Community Schools HUB.

Frankie’s Jazz Club – From New York: Roxy Coss Quintet

Musician, composer, and activist Roxy Coss has headlined at venues around the world. Downbeat listed her as a Rising Star on soprano saxophone for six years, and Jazziz called her an artist to watch. She has performed with jazz legends including Clark Terry, Billy Kaye, Rufus Reid, and Louis Hayes. Her fifth album, Quintet (OiM), received four stars from Downbeat. Roxy is on the board of the Jazz Educators Network; on faculty at Juilliard, The New School, and BMCC; and is a founder of Women In Jazz Organization (WIJO). With Miki Yamanaka on piano, Alex Goodman on guitar, Dave Barron on bass and Jimmy Macbride on drums Cover $20

Water St Cafe – John Gross Trio

Saxophonist John Gross joins keyboardist Jillian Lebeck Noriega and bassist André Lachance in this group formed to spotlight each members deep melodic sense and to play songs that are timeless and beautiful. They approach each piece with respect, care and love. Billy Strayhorn. Johnny Mandel, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Duke Ellington are some of the composers they admire and and will be paying tribute to. Rio Theatre -National Theatre Live: Fleabag
