Vancity Theatre – Cinema Salon: The Motorcycle DiariesDecember 10, 2019 7:00 pm
In 1952, Ernesto “Che” Guevara, left medical school a semester before graduating and at 23 years old, went on a motorcycle trip with his best friend, Albert Granado, that changed his life. The expedition was nine months long from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Caracas, Venezuela, almost 8,000 km. Falling in lust and dancing to the wrong music, Che also sees the injustices of oppressed mine workers, persecuted communists, banished lepers, and many others who suffered injustice. He kept a journal and found his life’s calling. Presented by Cal Coat (Cal’s goal is to expose contemporary global music as a relevant and totally reflective alternative for mainstream electronic media. He’s worked the past 39 years as a broadcaster in Greater Vancouver, 29 of those years specifically in multicultural broadcasting) Tickets $13/$11 Mountain View Cemetery – Little Chamber Music’s No Straight Road Free eventDecember 10, 2019 7:30 pm
