Back by popular demand... it's HONK!

It's fun, light, and perfect for a family audience... and every audience. If you missed Honk! you've another chance to visit your favourite barnyard characters at the Arts Club Granville Island Stage. Under new direction, experience a reminiscently close yet new perspective on this transformation of the classic Hans Christian Andersons' timeless tale into a loveable musical comedy staged in a duck pond.

The story unfolds through an enchanting musical arrangement of foot-tapping numbers such as Different, Hold Your Head Up High, and Warts & All, all driving our hero on a journey to find himself and where he belongs in the world. Surrounded by adventures at every turn, he meets a variety of enthusiastic, yet eclectic characters, each teaching him more about life and who he really is, delivering one powerful message... believe in yourself! "It may be a 'poultry tale' and seem feather light but under the duck pond-like service run themes important to kids and grownups alike" - Jo Ledingham - Vancouver Courier.

This magical tale will entertain you through its colourful, larger-than-life, cartoon like atmosphere, engaging the young and old with its honest and pure tales of childhood and growing up. Honk! was no competition for Britain's prestigious Olivier Award for Best New Musical.

Under the new direction of Sylvia Hosie, she is joined by returning Choreographer, Dana Kosalko-Harris, and Musical Director, Kevin-Michael Cripps. With costume designs by Christina Sinosich and lighting design by Paul Neumeyer, "this story is sure to be a colourful feast for the eyes!" Pat Waldron, Artistic Managing Producer, recent recipient of the honourable Sam Payne award, produces. Grab your wellies! It's time to wander back into the wonderful world of Honk!

"...even a crotchety curmudgeon like me was tapping his toes to many of the numbers in this snappy show..." Peter Birnie - Vancouver Sun
" ...a three year old cutie told me, 'I liked it because I loved it so much!' Seventeen times older than he is, I liked Honk! too..." Colin Thomas - The Georgia Straight
