OK, so it's more like a "Big Reminder"... Please
tune in to CTV this Sunday to catch my TV Movie debut. I
am so excited to
find
that Plague
City has
made it to the cover of the TV Times this
week! It just came out today - that's me on the right (yup,
the shortest of the three). I hope you get the chance to
see the movie on Sunday.

Miss
Saigon is the hugely popular musical by the same team
that created Les Misérables. Chris (Jonathan
Winsby),
an American soldier, has a brief and passionate affair with
an innocent Vietnamese girl named Kim (Nena Lazo), only to
be tragically separated from her in the turmoil of the U.S.
exodus. Raw and uncompromising, Miss Saigon is an intensely
personal story of the losses we suffer and the sacrifices we
make in a world gone mad.
John Mann (Spirit of the West) will star as the Engineer. In the story of Miss
Saigon, the Engineer is a central character, a morally void opportunist obsessed
with escaping from Vietnam and getting to America at any cost.
Director Bill Millerd states, "John Mann possesses the unique and seductive
charisma that the part of the Engineer requires. I look forward to being blown
away by his electric energy on stage — and I know that the Arts Club audiences
will, too." Although best known for his work with Spirit of the West, Mann
is a jack-of-all-trades, with a body of work ranging from creating award-winning
soundscapes for theatre, to acting in film, TV, and theatrical productions.
The cast of Miss Saigon also includes Nena Lazo as Kim, Jonathan Winsby as Chris,
Matt Palmer as John, Jayme Armstrong as Ellen, with Broderick
Chow, Jeremy Crittenden, Jeni Haskett, Lisa Ho, Alfred Liu, Nicolette Liwanag,
Troy V. McLaughlin, Lannette
New, Ben Ngui, Ryan Reid, Robbie Niño Rementilla, Yifeng Song, Jon-Paul
Walden, Robyn Wong.
Miss Saigon is directed by Bill Millerd. Musical Direction by Bruce Kellett.
Choreography by Valerie Easton. Joining Mr. Millerd, Mr. Kellett, and Ms. Easton
on the creative team are Set Designer Ted Roberts, Lighting Designer Marsha Sibthorpe,
Costume Designer Rebekka Sorensen, Sound Designer Chris Daniels, Stage Manager
Caryn Fehr, and Assistant Stage Manager Pamela Jakobs. |
