Happy
New Year! It's not quite mid-month yet and I've already had two
great singing gigs this year. The first was for a very successful
sold-out evening of
Voices of A'Cappella, put on by In
The House Festival. It
was a fun evening and my group, Verve Collective, was one of
three groups featured that night. The house rocked with music
to a very appreciative crowd and I'm so glad I got to be a part
of things. The second gig was for a private fundraiser, which
was a fun night of singing followed by a great Mexican feast. Yum!
And
now, announcing my third event this year...
(and it's going to be a doozy!)

come out and support the Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre (VACT). CHOP
SUEY SPECIAL #10 - Serving Up A Decade of Performances highlights
the shows VACT has done in the last 10 years as a fundraiser
for future productions. Highlights of the evening will include
two
sketch
comedy groups, Laughing Make Mind Damage! who were the 2008 Rice
Bowl Winners of VACT's Etch-YOUR-SketchOFF and Darin' Joes, a
sketch group comprising of many participants from the Etch-YOUR-Sketch
shows.
The
very popular series Sex in Vancouver will
have a condensed version for those who wish to relive the lives
of Elizabeth, Shari, Tess and Jenna and the men in their lives.
If you missed one of the episodes during the run (2003-2006)
or just want to see it again, here's your chance. Most of the
cast members are returning to reprise their roles on this hilarious
romantic comedy.
And
for those who loved Flower Drum Song this
summer and want to sing-along with the cast to Flower
Drum Songs, there will be an audience opportunity to
do that.

you will see VAFF's documentary on the Flower Drum Song's
rehearsals and opening night! (This premiered
at the 2009 Vancouver Asian Film Festival!)
