Jane's Walk in the Downtown Eastside
One of the "Jane's Walk" urban tours was "Riots, Homelessness and Baseball" - a stroll through the Downtown Eastside recounting some of the little-known lore of Vancouver's early days. There was a strong political component - and how could there not be, what with a local history that includes opium dens, anti-Asian and pro-marijuana Riots, and the burning of the mayor in effigy?
