Robson Street time warp
In 1996, I photographed the 1600 block of Robson Street as the shops were about to be flattened for a new development. I even included a "street view" angle of the building model in the presentation centre, intending to match it with the real thing once it was built. This fall, I finally got around to taking that "after" picture I’d always meant to take. I was a little shocked to realize that it’s been 11 years! Well, better late than never.
Those who lived in the West End at that time might appreciate this blast from the past. And the letter from the "sealed with a kiss" store seemed particularly poignant. Enjoy.
