Hey, I’m in a show! It’s local, live theatre – original, madcap sketch comedy in the vein of “The Carol Burnett Show”, “Mad TV” or… insert your favourite classic sketch comedy show here. It’s funny! It’s for charity! It’s cheaper than “Spamalot”! I hope you can make it out.
There will be a live house band, and two original comedy songs from musical duo Chili and Sage (sometimes known as Gil and Sarah Jaysmith).
Proceeds from the show go to both
Aunt Leah’s Place and the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. So it’s comedy for a cause!
On a side note, this is the first-ever time I share some of the writing credit! Yes, I had a hand in some of the giggles and a few of the gags – augmenting the fine work of the main writers, Carol-Anne Doucet, Leanne Kuzminski, comedy troupe The Jobbers, Jeremy Alvarez, and Ashley Lambert-Maberly.
You’ll spot me in roles ranging from a newscaster, to a game-show host, to a certain aging rock and roll legend.
So go ahead and grab a couple of tickets and come on out May 1, 2 or 3 to the PAL Theatre in Vancouver for “Giggles and Gags”, an outrageous and hilarious evening of sketch comedy, magic, music and dancing!
