It’s on! Join my Festive Holiday Tin Can Fundraiser

Well, it took a global pandemic to (temporarily) stop the annual Holiday Carolling Tin Can fundraiser for Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter, but I’m happy to announce that this festive seasonal event is back on this year!

As always, this will raise money for the essential work Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter has been doing for nearly 50 (!) years – helping women escape violence via their 24-hour helpline and transition house.

I’ve participated in their street fundraising “Tin Can” fundraising events since 2000. I started a “Carolling Tin Can” in 2005, and have continued that each year since, with just one unavoidable year off. So this is both the 16th event AND 16th anniversary! It will be wonderful to see people in-person and to sing out some seasonal tunes again. I hope you can drop by, even if only for a few minutes, and lend your voice!

  • DAY: Saturday, December 18
  • LOCATION: Georgia and Granville (probably in front of London Drugs but might be in front of The Bay)
  • TIME FRAME: From 10:30 to 3, approximately.

I’ll be at lunch from about 1-1:30. If you don’t see anyone on the corner, come back in a little while.

As always, songbooks (and a Santa hat or two) will be provided!

Stay for as little or as long as you like! It’s lots of fun for a great cause – and the more, the merrier. So feel free to pass this message along to friends, family, co-workers etc.

I hope to see you there!
