My friend and (formerly) fellow Broadway Chorus singer, Kate Polsky, a talented singer-songwriter in her own right, is celebrating her birthday with a gig at the Our Town café (E. Broadway at Kingsway) this January 15 and 16. It will feature something extra special – a performance by the five-part harmony group, Verve Collective (a group that is also well-stocked with friends and former co-performers including Kate, Gerry Parsons, Joel Smith, Peter Brasso and Lannette New). They perform with Kate on Jan. 15 (starting at 7:30), and the Augusta Trio joins her on the 16th (starting at 8). Should be a couple of memorable and tuneful evenings – come on down if you can!
