I’m in an award-winning documentary that screens next week at L.A. fest
Last year, I had an exciting (and slightly surreal) experience when I was flown to Los Angeles to be interviewed for a documentary film. Well, the film’s not only finished – it has won an award for “Best Documentary Film” at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, and is screening at the festival next week!
It’s called “Reflections of the Past” and it takes a fresh look at the notorious Parker/Hulme murder case, on which the film “Heavenly Creatures” was based. I built a website based on the F.A.Q. of the film (which I still maintain though I no longer update it), and it was a bit of an obsession for me for a long time.
You can read about my experience being interviewed for Alex’s documentary here and here, and there’s also a photo gallery.
I wish I could attend, but it’s exciting (and a little nerve-wracking!) just to know that it will be seen by the public for the first time. From the short clips I’ve seen on filmmaker Alex Roman’s site, I’m sure it will be a very well-done and thought-provoking film. I’m thrilled to be a small part of it.
If you’re in the L.A. area, you might want to check it out! It screens on Thursday, December 16 at 11:15pm, at the Regent Showcase Cinema in Hollywood. You can buy tickets here.
