VIDEO: “No Tanks” rally says don’t mix oil and our water

Did you know that two big tankers a week carrying crude oil from the tar sands leave the port of Vancouver, under the Second Narrows and Lions Gate bridges, past Stanley Park and the Gulf Islands bound for California and China?

Did you know that Houston-based Kinder Morgan plans to pipe more than double the crude here, meaning more tankers through our port, and huge risks to the place we love?

Video: Church Perogy Night!

After hearing about this event for approximately forever, I finally made it out to Perogy Night at the Ukrainian Church. The first Friday of each month, they serve up an authentic homemade perogy dinner, and people come from far and wide to enjoy it. I spoke with some of the cheeky and colourful characters waiting in line, and not only got some interesting comments, I got some unexpected tips on moustache cultivation.   Read more »
