After 16 years leading Vancouver’s monthly Ukulele Circle, “King of the Ukulele” Ralph Shaw is departing for England due to family commitments. January 17, 2017 was his last night presiding over the event, and as a sometime strummer on the old four-string and occasional attendee and performer there, I knew had to attend. I captured some key highlights of the emotional and fun-filled evening, along with a few words from some of the long-time attendees as we wished Ralph a fond “farewell… until we meet again”. Enjoy!
