The annual auditions for Kol Halev are coming up Sunday, May 2 at 5:30pm The Peretz Centre for Secular Jewish Culture, 6184 Ash Street, Vancouver.
Kol Halev is a community musical theatre group looking for:
- Supporting actors (male and female) – adults and children age 10 and older. Actors should be prepared to do a cold read.
- Dancers, at all skill levels, with experience in any of the following: musical theatre, jazz, body percussion, folk dance and/or tap (bring your tap shoes). All levels of skill are invited to audition.
- Singers (adult and children). Come prepared to sing a capella . Musical-theatre-style song. Bring a resume and head shot if you have one.
If you have an unusual performance skill that you would like to audition, please call to enquire. We are also looking for specialty acts. Most important… come prepared to have fun!

“Chanukah in Chelm”
This year Kol Halev is producing an original play, Chanukah in Chelm, written by Joan Stuchner, award-winning Scholastic children’s book writer. It’s a family oriented musical comedy with upbeat dancing and singing.
Their production team includes director Tom Kavadias (Metro Theatre) as well as Jeff Hyslop (Phantom of the Opera). Choreography is by Tasha Lawson (Cirque du Soleil, Tri-Tone Productions / Texas) and Teryl Rothery (Stargate SG-1).
There will be three performances beginning in late November (within the time frame of Nov 23
to Dec.5th).
